IE 9 Rant.

MS announced the release of IE9 beta today and guess what its not supported on XP. Once again the

decisions maker or makers @ MS f&%$#@ up big time. Why the hell would you decide not to support IE 9
on XP? Espically when MS is trying to recapture the browser market they lost for good. So in this economy if they are expecting companies and home users to spend $$$ and upgrade the OS to Windows 7 they are wrong. The company I am working for has 200 or more XP machines with no plans to upgrade in the near future...
Don't get me wrong I am not against MS. I am a systems and network admin working primarily in windows environment but I just can't understand why why why would you not support IE 9 on XP. Does some one needsto remind them that every 2 out of 3 windows machines out there has XP???
Well looks like this is one more reason to move to firefox, chrome or Safari. While we are moving lets also move to open office and later to ubuntu get my drift.

"People go to the Web for sites, not for the browser," Dean Hachamovitch, vice president for IE, said at a release event in San Francisco --- Really no shit.

iPad for Kids and Samsung Galaxy tab.

I had a chance to mess around with my little cousin's iPad and its really great learning tool for kids. We loaded up lot of learning aids and games for him to play with and he enjoys it a lot.

I heard Samsung is also coming up with their version of tablet called Galaxy tab.
  • 7 inch LCD display, 1024x600.
  • 1.3 mpix front and 3 mpix rear facing camera.
  • Cortex A8 1.0-GHz processor and supports HD video.
  • 16 or 32 GB storage.
  • 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
I read online that they are going to do the same like Apple + AT&T deal thing with Verizon. Come on guys are you kidding me??? and I also read that android 2.2 will not support galaxy tab. If this is true then hold off on buying this...I would not recommend on wasting money on this device.

Failed to find mac address 00:60:73:xx:xx:xx in the system interfaces table - 1

When I try to connect to Sonicwall PRO 2040 vpn appliance using GVC (Sonicwall global VPN client) I get the error below
  • The peer is not responding to phase 1 ISAKMP requests and
  • Failed to find mac address 00:60:73:xx:xx:xx in the system interfaces table
After reasearching this issue and spending coutless hours with support from sonicwall this is where I am...
  • Reinstalled the client with admin id - Did not work.
  • Turned off firewall and anitvirus - Did not work.
  • Download their tool to uninstall and reinstall the sonicwall client and change the virtual mac address - Did not work.
  • Updated the physical NIC card drivers - Did not work.
  • Installed the older version of GVC from sonicwall website as suggested by the tech support - Did not work.
At this point I am open to any suggestions out there. My OS is windows 7 and I am able to connect with a different machine from my home network so I am sure its not my router of ISP connection as suggested by the tech team.

I will update this blog if I find a solution.
